Mischief Monday: Supporting The Lola Project

One of my favorite organizations is The Lola Project.

The Lola Project works on raising awareness about mental health and illness and the benefits of psychiatric service dogs.

Wonderful organizations like The Lola Project thrive and are supported by donations. Last month they had their 2nd Annual Spring On The Education Event.

Since this event was in New York and I live in Minnesota I was unable to attend and help support this organization. So with my mom's help we sent a donation to help the efforts of The Lola Project. In return The Lola Project sent me one of their goodie bags they had left over from the event as a thank you.

I encourage you to learn mare about The Lola ProjectWebsite, Facebook Page, Twitter account, or their Etsy shop.

You can purchase your very own "Not All Disabilities Are Visible" bandana to help bring awareness to mental health and illness.

You can check out my previous post about The Lola Project here.

Would like to acknowledge and thank The Lola Project's big sponsors: Robibero Family Vineyards, 1800PetMeds, and Summer's Paw.

  6. Great project. There are so many people who don't realize that service dogs go beyond the blind.

  8. The Lola Project sounds awesome!! I love reading about how dogs can be used for all sorts of things - autism, depression, anxiety, OCD, the list goes on. It really is amazing. Have you read a book called The Possibility Dogs? It's one of my faves.

I wrote a post about the effect my dog has on my depression, if you're interested: http://secondchances4animals.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-healing-power-of-pets.html

Are you going to the Minnesota Pet Expo this weekend?!

  12. What a pawsome organization. I'm definitely going to look more into them. Psychiatric service dogs are fascinating to me. Atka is on his way to be a therapy dog to visit people with mental illnesses, but service dogs have such amazing capabilities. I've seen people with PTSD do a complete 180 when a service dog enters their life. They are given an amazing peace of mind.
