PupCrate December 2015 Edition

I'm excited to share with you the Pupcrate's December 2015 Edition. First, let me explain what PupCrate is and how it works.
PupCrate is a new subscription dog box. Each monthly PupCrate box contains 4-5 treats (USA made), toys and other pet products that have been hand selected by PupCrate. Each month is sourced extremely carefully from trusted suppliers and each item is unique from anything they will send in a later box.

PupCrate is even great for dogs with allergies. Every PupCrate is wheat, corn and soy free.

Here is how it works:

1) Choose Dog Size:
  • Small (0-20lbs)
  • Medium (20-50lbs)
  • Large (50+lbs)
2) Choose Toy Preference
  • Plush Toys (soft and squishy)
  • Chew Toys (durable and chewy)
  • Or Mix of Plush and Chew
3) Choose A Term
  • Month to Month - $29.95
  • 3 Month Prepay - $85.95
  • 12 Month Prepay - $330.95

Now, lets take a closer look at the goodies in the Decembers Edition of the PupCrate:
  • Tuff Ones Tree
    • Durable holiday tree with strong seams by Outward Hounds.
  • Tuff Ones Candy Cane
    • Durable holiday candy cane with strong seams by Outward Hounds.
  • My Doggy Soft-Baked Cookies
    • Terrific all natural cookies your dog will absolutely love! Gluten Free!
  • 2x Bare Bites
    • Two bags of 100% natural beef liver, no additives.
  • Preppy Puppy Uniced Tree
    • A Special holiday treat from a local bakery in Massachusetts. Gluten Free!
  • Roll of Earth Rated Poop Bags
    • My favorite part of this box subscription! You can never have too many poop bags! Right?

I have a confession and acceptance is the first step, I've heard. I am tough on my toys. I don't rip them to piece. Instead, I have some OCD tendency and play with them until the fall apart or until my humans take them away. I have been playing with these two toys for a week straight, sleeping with them, taking them outside with me, and even playing fetch with them. Guess what??? They are both still in one piece and there isn't any holes in them! They have been Spencer tested and my humans approve! They really are Tuff!

Look Who's Happy! Tempt 'n Tenders Review

Welcome and Happy Thursday! Today I'm sharing with you Look Who's Happy! Tempt 'n Tenders Chicken with Pumpkin Recipe. Ever since I've learned about this company I have fallen in love with their philosophy:
If there's one thing all dogs should have in common, it's that they should be happy!

As you can see in the photo above, I'm having a hard time keeping it together. Why you ask, because this treat is:
  • Made with cage free poultry raised in the USA and USDA-Inspected
  • Grain and Gluten Free
  • No by-products, hormones, artificial preservatives, flavors or colors
  • Naturally raised meats providing high quality protein
  • Garden vegetables picked at the peak of ripeness
  • Slow cooked for terrific taste
These treats are made right here in the USA on their family owned plant. The ingredients include:
  • Chicken
  • Pumpkin
  • Cane Molasses
  • Sea Salt
  • Citric Acid
  • Mixed Tocopherols
    • Source of Vitamin E
These treats are about 4 inches long and come in a 4 ounce resealable bag locking in the moister and flavor. They sell for about $7.99.

I had all I could do not to jump into my mom's ares and take this treat from her. But, with a little self restraint I waited patiently. And let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait. Not only are these treats great for big dogs, but you can easily brake them into smaller pieces for smaller dogs as well.

I highly recommend this treat to all my four legged pals out there.

Pamper Your Pet at PetSmart #PetSmartGrooming

The time had finally come and I needed to get spruced up for the coming holiday season. So that means a date with the groomer.

This post is sponsored by PetSmart and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about PetSmart Grooming Salons, but Spencer the Goldendoodle only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. PetSmart is not responsible for the content of this article.

Booking an Appointment

I decided to check out the PetSmart® Grooming salon, but needed moms help to schedule the appointment. While my mom was on the phone she learned that you can actually book you appointment online with your favorite groomer. Also you can get text alerts or emails notifying you when your pet is ready to be picked up.

Different Packages

PetSmart has several different packages to choose from, mom scheduled me for one of their Base Package: Dog Bath with Haircut and included an Add-On Package: Top Dog.

The Dog Bath with Haircut (perfect for dogs who need a bath plus a haircut) includes:
  • Oxygen-infused bath
  • Shampoo washing and blow dry
  • 15 minutes or more of brushing
  • Dematting and haircut
  • Nail trim
  • Ear cleaning, hair removal and flushing (if needed)
  • Scissoring feet and pad shaving
  • Sanitary trim
  • Anal gland cleaning
The Top Dog includes:
  • Choice of premium shampoo
  • Milk bath conditioner
  • Scented cologne spritz
  • Teeth brushing and breath freshener
  • Bandana or bow
Reminders Before Your Appointment
  • All pets need current rabies vaccinations and proof of vaccination from their vet. I was able to have my vet fax my vaccination to PetSmart.
  • Rabies Vaccination needs to be administered 48 hours prior to service.
  • They do not perform services on pets 8 weeks or younger.
  • Customers cannot go behind the double doors separating the Salon lobby from the grooming area. This is for the safety of their pets and associates.

Consultation

When we arrived we met my groomer, Leslie Jean. She immediately came over to me and started petting me. She asked my mom several question:

  • "How do you prefer his hair cut?"
  • "Does he have any allergies?"
  • "When was the last time flea or tick medication has been applied?"
Leslie Jean then started feeling me for any mats, bumps or skin issues, she also checked out my nails, teeth, and ears. She explained to my mom that she would be bringing me in the back where she would be giving me my bath, trimming my nails, brushing my teeth and cleaning my ears, if needed.

My mom then handed the leash over to Leslie Jean and she was off to do some shopping while I was getting pampered.

Education
I was surprised to learn about all the education PetSmart requires:
*Salon associates acquire annual safety certification and take additional course-work where they learn about dog anatomy, signs of stress and common pet medical conditions.

*Groomers (those that give haircuts) receive an additional 400 hours of hands-on training.

Another feature that both my mom and I loved is the viewing window into the store from the salon. It was fun watching all the customers shopping for their pet. With my separation anxiety it was difficult for my mom to watch me in the salon. Having the window for my mom to "spy" on me through the store sheaves was great.

Pawgress Report Card

Finally, I was done. Leslie Jean presented mom with a Pawgress Report card that noted what she found while grooming me. The different areas that she was able to report on was: skin, coat, ears, nails, teeth, and anal glands. This was a great tool the groomers use to make sure the relay any and all important info on to the owners.

She did an amazing job taking good care of me and cutting my coat to my mom's standards. Check out my before and after shots, I look like a new dog who can finally see again.

Accessories

My mom's favorite part was picking out my new bandana and charm. What do you think, am I ready for fall???

Guarantee

Finally, PetSmart Salons offer a "Look Great Guarantee," which is their promise that you'll be happy with your pet's service, or they will do whatever it takes to make it right - including offering your money back.

Benefits of Owning a Fish and Starting Your Own Aquarium #APIfish

Visiting PetSmart in search of my new fish.

I'm excited to share with you my latest adventure, becoming a fish owner with the help of PetSmart® and API®
This post is sponsored by MARS Fishcare and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about API Perfect Start but Spencer the Goldendoodle only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. MARS Fishcare is not responsible for the content of this article.

Let's first look at different reasons or benefit of being a fish owner.
  • Fish are quiet, affordable, clean pets the involve minimal attention and have minimal to no behaviors depending on the breeds.
  • Fish can take up as much room or as little room as possible, making them great for apartments.
  • Fish are a great pet for children. Not only does it help teach them responsibility, but they also provide them with friendship.
  • Finally, it has been scientifically proven fish have a calming affect. Between hearing the sound of the water to watching them effortlessly swimming about. Fish tanks offer us the opportunity to bring the calming affects of nature into our houses.

After deciding to be a fish owner it was off to PetSmart to get everything I need.

I decided on API's 1.5 Aquarium Kit with 180 Degree View. Here is what all came in this kit:
  • API Perfect Start™, a complete and easy-to-us start-up program to successfully start your aquarium. It consists of 3 envelopes to use on Day 1, Day 14, and Day 28. Each envelop contains single dose of API's Stress Coat, Stress Zyme, and Quick Start.
  • Multi-Color Led Lighting - light color options include white, blue, red, green, purple, aqua and amber.
  • Easy Care Integrated Filration System - the filter housing is molded into the tank body so it displaces less water. This filter uses API Crystal Bio-Chem Zorb cartridge.
While I was picking out my products one of PetSmarts employees, Megan, came over and asking if we were finding everything okay. I had my mom tell her that we are becoming fish owners and if there was anything she recommended. She asked what kind of fish we had in mind. We told her that we were looking to get a Betta fish. She highly recommended getting the API's Bettafix and Stress Coat.

She explained that Bettafix is an all-natural way to treat Bettas for bacterial infections. She shared that one of her Bettas was biting his back fin. After using this API product he no longer was biting his fin and it help make his fin healthier. She then told us that Stress Coat is part of API's Aquarium Maintenance collection and help makes our tap water safe for our new Betta.

Last, but not least, I needed to pick out my new pal. PetSmart had a many Betta fish to choose from in all different colors and breeds. Megan did a wonderful job explaining what the difference of each breed is. Finally I settled on a male blue crown Betta I named, Tuna.

Finding everything I need
After getting everything we needed for Tuna we headed home and started to unpack and set up the tank. It only took about 15 minutes to set the tank up, fill it with water, add the chemicals, and the accessories. We then let the tank sit over night with the filter on before we added Tuna to the tank.

Tuna has been a wonderful addition to our family. He is enjoying his new spacious home and I love watching him swim about.

Flagology - Custom Printed Flags - Review

Happy Monday Everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I have a busy week for you all so lets get started.

Today I'm sharing with you a wonderful company called Flagology. Flagology was started in 2012 by a working mom named Susan who couldn't find a flag that expressed the unique personality of Bella, her Chihuahua-Dashshund-Terrier mix. So she created one of her own. Soon after that, Susan started getting request from friends to print flags that celebrated their special pets as well. And so Flagology.com was born.

My humans can relate to Susan, since I'm a mix breed as well, it is hard to find Goldendoodle items/decor.

Ordering your own custom flag is easier than you think. Here are the simple steps to order your own custom flag:

1) Go to flagology.com
2) Choose your design either: photo, monogram, or address flag. You will find there are several to choose from in each category.
3) Upload a photo from either a file, Facebook, or Instagram.
4) Add text, change the font, choose your flag color, or add a clipart.
5) Choose your fabric.
*Flagtastic Fabric - is their premium quality outdoor fabric perfect for photo flags.
*Flip-It Fabric - is their premium quality outdoor double sided fabric perfect for text and monogram flags.

6) Place your order. Prices start at $24.99.

Once you have completed your design and have placed your order, your custom flag will be shipped to you in as soon as 5-7 business days!

I didn't put much thought into the product before it arrived. So, when I opened the package and looked at the flag for the first time I was shocked/amazed/impressed with my flag. I have noted all the highlights for this product and the company for you below:
  • Quality of the Flag - The quality of the flag is impressive. Not only is it tough enough to withstand the elements outside, it is also thick and silky make it a great piece to show off inside your home as well.
  • Ordering Process -  Ordering was easy, simple, and fast. But at the same time you have many options to choose from as well as many options to customize your flag.
  • Price - $24.99 for a custom flag that is made from quality fabric is a bargain.
  • Speedy Delivery -  I was shocked when I saw my package in my mail box only 4 days after I placed my order. I'm sure with the holidays coming delivery times will be slowed down a bit. However, to get a custom order in a week is outstanding.
I'm over the moon with this company and this product. The only downside I found was not knowing about this company sooner.

Flagology would make a wonderful, custom gift for the dog lover in your life. Make yours today and use the coupon code "spencerflag15" and receive 15% off your order through 12/31/15.

Here are the details to guarantee your custom flag arrives in time for Christmas:
  • December 11th is the deadline to order a flag with regular shipping and a guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve
  • December 16th is the deadline to order a flag with overnight shipping and a guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve.

To learn more about more about Flagology visit them at any of these sites: Website, Facebook, Pinterest, Intstagram, and Twitter.

PL360 Arthogen Plus Advanced Hip & Joint Formula

I was reading the other day and found out that some places consider a 7 year old dog a senior. I was shocked, I mean, I still feel like a spunky pup. However, I am noticing some aches and pains with the resent weather change. Even my humans asked if I'm okay because I have been moaning some when I lay down.

When PL360 contacted us, asking if I would like to review their Hip & Joint supplements, I subconsciously jumped all over the opportunity.

PL360 makes two different Hip & Joint Support. Here is the different between the two:

Since I fall under the "senior" and "large breed" category, I'm reviewing the Advanced Hip & Joint Support supplement

Arthogen Plus Advanced Hip & Joint Formula for dogs is specially formulated with glucosamine and chondroitin, plus MSM and HA to support healthy hips and joints. These tablets are beef and cheese flavored and are scored chewable to help ensure easy and accurate dosage.

According to the bottle, for the first month you start off taking 2 pills in the morning and 1 pill in the evening. Now that it has been over a month, I just take 2 pills in the morning. Even though these tablets are flavored, I'm not good at taking pills. So, my humans crush them and add them to my food, which I take with no problems.

Since being on this supplement, for just over a month, both my humans and I have noticed a difference already. The main difference we all notice, I'm not moaning anymore when I lay down.

I would recommend this product to any K9 out there who is needing a supplement or who wants to be proactive with their aging dog.

This supplement comes in three different size bottles:

  • 90 Chewable Tablets
    • Regular Price: $39.87
    • Currently on Sale: $23.99
  • 180 Chewable Tablets
    • Regular Price: $73.99
    • Currently on Sale: $36.99
  • 360 Chewable Tablets
    • Regular Price: $92.34
    • Currently on Sale: $62.99
You can order this and other PL360 products at:
