Wordless Wednesday: Tether Tug Review

I'm pleased to introduce Tether Tug. Tether Tug is made right here in the U.S. and was developed as a durable, interactive toy. It was designed to provide your dog with hours of fun play and healthy exercise.

Like all toys, there is some assembly. However, my mom was able to do it by herself in just a few minutes. Here is how to set up the Tether Tug:

• Find a level spot in your yard away from trees and other objects.
• Using a mallet or hammer, drive the base into the ground until secure.
• Insert the Tether Tug pol into the base and ensure the attached toy can freely swing.
• Encourage your dog to start playing with the Tether Tug by holding the toy close to ground. Once the dog begins to pull release the toy and allow your dog to continue playing.

Tasty Tuesday: BarkBox + Zuke's = HappySpencer

During March Madness this year BarkBox had a sale going on since there were 54 teams left in the the hunt for the NCAA championship, you were able to get a 6 months subscription for only $54. How can you pass up a deal like that!

This is my second BarkBox that has arrived and I could not wait to open it. 

Finally, the moment has arrived, mom cuts off the tape and peels back the lid and ......... OMD ....... a ZUKE'S BONE!!! Zuke's Clean Crisp bones are one of my favorite treats! All that was going through my head was devouring this tasty treat with the rapper still on. But, no, first we have to take pictures, and by pictures I mean enough to cover an entire wall in our house. 

"Okay, Spencer" I say to myself, "the quicker you cooperate the sooner you can get the bone." 

Finally the moment has come, mom methodically opens the rapper! And......Nomm...Nommmm...Nommm

Mischief Monday: Collarific Bandanas

What makes Collarific Bandanas my new favorite accessory?

 Collarific bandanas slide over you dogs collar. Because it resides on the collar, the bandana comes off only when you remove the dog's collar. This way you eliminate the strangulation risk that comes with wearing traditional bandanas.

  The biggest problem that I had with traditional bandanas, while playing, they would become stretched out and fall off. But with my new Collarific bandanas they stay in place until my mom switches them out.

Collarific bandanas come in so many different prints and patterns you will have a hard time choosing. As you can tell from the photo above my mom struggled narrowing her order down. They also come in different sizes to fit you pet perfectly.

Black n White Sunday: Puppy Mills

Since I have started blogging, I have loved learning so much more about my K9 pals. The one topic that is close to my heart, yet something that is hard for me to stomach is talking about puppy mills.

Most of you might not know that my mom was rescued from a puppy mill. She was rescued here in Minnesota by an organization called RAGOM (Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota). When she was placed in foster care they found out she was pregnant with me and my 8 siblings. 

According to the Humane Society it is estimated that there are at least 10,000 puppy mills in the U.S. Fewer than 3,000 of these are regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. (source)

This past month the Humane Society came out with a report called: 101 Puppy Mills: A Selection of Problem Puppy Mills in the United States in 2014.

I encourage everyone to take a look at the list and share it with others. Continuing to educate the public is the best way to put a stop to these inhumane commercial dog-breeding facilities.

Thoughtless Thursday: Veterinarian Visit

Yesterday Callie the Cat and myself went to the veterinarian. Lets just say one of us was excited to go and the other one was not thrilled go. And she made sure everyone knew her dislike. 

When we got there the first thing they did was checked our weight. And we both went up a few pounds. I am now at 70lbs of muscle and fluff and Callie, like most females, would prefer her weight not be announced. 

We got all of our shot, was checked over and was given a clean bill of health. The veterinarian explained to my mom that they changed how often Rabies shot are given. Now Rabies shot are given every three years now, instead of two years.
