Wordless Wednesday: Comic Con Attire

Some people collect cards, some collect books, some even collect stamps. What does my dad collect, Nerdy T-Shirts! With Comic Con only two days away dad has been going back and forth and back and forth on what to wear. So he asked more my help!

At first, making hourly t-shirt changes or wearing all of them at once and taking one off every hour sounded like a good idea. But, finally we narrowed it down to the top three shirts for this weekend: Captain America, Super Man, and Hipster Yoda!

Mischief Monday: Comic Con

What do I think of when I hear Star Wars, comic books, superheros, and the word bazinga? My parents!

That is correct, my parents are what you would call nerds or geeks. And this weekend they are heading to Minneapolis for Comic Con.

Last year they went to the Chicago Comic Con and had such a blast. So when they found out it was coming to Minnesota they jumped right on and bought their tickets.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to attend with them, but as you see I'm not left out of the preparation fun!

Which picture is your favorite?

Also, this weekend there is going to be a fun giveaway here, as well as on my Facebook page. So stay tuned, cause you are not going to want to miss it!

Thoughtless Thursday: PushClean

I'm pleased to introduce to you PushClean Pet Grooming Towelettes.

Information about the PushClean Towelettes:

  • All Natural Bamboo Towelette
  • 100% Biodegradable
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Towelettes are dry until activated
  • Reusable/Sustainable
  • Great to wipe away the dirt, excess hair, and dander from your pet's coat
  • Convenient travel size

 Easy as 1-2-3
1. Push in the middle circle
2. Wait only 4 seconds for the towelette to active
3. Unfold.....and use!

The video below shows, in real time, how fast the towelette "pops" out.

In order to properly test out this product it required some special prep work. Dad needed to play fetch with me in the muddy area of he dog park. And I enjoyed every minute.

Alright, test subject ready for action.
In the pictures below, we only cleaned my right paw with the towelette. My paw was damp afterwards but dried relatively quickly.

Review of the experience:
  • The towelette got most of the dirt off my paw. I feel with my fluff and large paws I might require more then one per paw.
  • Only one little puncher hole, due to my paw-nails. Otherwise, this towelette held up my mom rubbing and rubbing.
  • I wish it was a little bit more damp after coming out of the container. But, these towelettes can be reusable. All my mom needed to do was to rinse it off in the sink and ring it out and we could have reused it.
Overall, I love this product. It is small, compact, and portable. Not to mention handy, practical, and useful.

Spencer gives this product 4 PAWS up!

I am excited to announce that I am able to give one lucky person 12 PushClean Pet Towelettes.

Tasty Tuesday: The ThunderToy Review

Introducing the ThunderToy from the people who brought you the ThunderShirt. The ThunderToy is excellent for enrichment and distraction. This toy helps provide an attractive alternative to unwanted destructive chewing.

The ThunderToy is made of durable, long-lasting rubber with a 1 inch hole in the bottom for you to add your doges favorite treats. The ThunderToy comes in two different sizes:
S - under 25lbs
L - over 25lbs
ThunderWorks does make their own ThunderTreats, for this review I just used some of my favorite treat I had at home.

With a 1 inch diameter at the bottom you can fit treats of all different sizes in it. You can make treats easier to remove for your dog simply trim the treat retainers to a shorter length.

My mom filled the ThunderToy up with three different treats and it kept me busy for over 15 minutes. Afterwards, I was tuckered out from working hard at getting my treats. This would be a great "tool" to use when we have company over to keep me distracted and focused on a task that will wear off some energy.

Spencer gives this product 4 paws up!

You can find about ThunderWorks and their products on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, and their Website.

Side Notes:
*When Spencer is given any treats he is always supervised.
*I was provided this product free of charge for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own and no other compensation was given.

Thoughtless Thursday: It's Going to the Cats

I would get in trouble if I was caught on the table, but not Callie the Cat. Look at her sit on that table like she owns the place.

Not only does she sit on the table, but she also sits tall on my food. Out of all the places in the house, my food.

Tasty Tuesday: Nadia Cake's

Check out one of Nadia Cake's locations here in Maple Grove, Minnesota!

Nadia Cakes is a Cupcake Wars Winner on the Food Network Channel and has been seen on TLC's show Fabulous Cakes twice.

This past Friday my mom and aunt took an afternoon drive to check out this award winning bakery. Stepping into the shop they were welcomed by sweet smells, eye catching colors, and not to mention the delicious looking cupcakes and desserts.

Afterward going back and forth and back and forth again they finally picked out their cupcakes. They said it was painful choosing from all the different flavors. Some of those flavors were Strawberry, "Alice and Wonderland," Red Velvet, and the award winning Cheese Cake cupcake.

Finally onto the Pupcakes!

All natural ingredients including bananas, peanut butter, apples and cream cheese.
They are a little pricey, but who can put a price on feeding your way to a puppies heart.

How am I suppose to look at the camera with these cupcakes so close to my face.

Now onto the taste test!

As you can see from the video, I give Nadia's cupcakes 4 paws way up!

Helping Disabled Farmers

So two weeks ago my mom and grandpa took a trip to Kentucky for the National AgrAbility Conference.
Here is a little about AgrAbility, "it is a program sponsored by the USDA that provides assistance to farmers, ranchers, other agricultural workers, and farm family members impacted by disability. It consists of a National Project and State/Regional Projects (currently serving 24 states), each involving collaborative partnerships between land grant universities and various nonprofit disability services organizations."

So what does AgrAbility do?
"The vision of Agrability is to enable a high quality lifestyle for farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural workers with disabilities. Through education and Assistance, AgrAbility helps to eliminate (or at least minimize) obstacles that block success in production agriculture or agriculture-related occupations."

What services does AgrAbility provide?
  • Conducting on-site assessments to identify barriers to completing tasks both inside and outside the home
  • Recommending appropriate assistive technologies, modified work practices, and/or other possible solutions to overcoming disability-relates limitations
  • Providing access to information materials on a variety of topics related to disability and agriculture
  • Referring customers to other services providers for potential assistance specific to the clients' needs
  • Arranging for peer support opportunities that connect customers with others who have successfully accommodated their disabilities

Here are the sessions they went to:
  • Modern Beekeeping
  • Are Sheep and Goats in Your Farming Future?
  • The Use of Custom Seating to Accommodate Severe Back Impairment on the Farm
  • Adaptive Recreation for Folks with Disabilities
  • AgrAbility Adaptive Technology in a Box for Farmers and Ranchers
  • Aging and Farmers: Understanding "Normal" and Adapting to Changes
  • Caring for Caregivers
  • Assistive Technology Show and Tell

Here are images from the Show and Tell

This image and video shows how a wheelchair can get into and out of a truck.

If you notice the image above not only is there a seat lift but the step is on hydraulics. This is beneficial for someone with arthritis or limited range of motion. All they do is stand on it and it will raise up to get into the truck easier.

This picture shows both a seated lift on the left and a standing lift on the right.

I'm just scratching the surface of this topic. It is close to our families heart and hope to share more on it in the future. If you would like more information or have questions feel free to ask or check out AgrAbility's website.
