Wordless Wednesday: The Reason for the Season

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday in full swing we can not forget the true reason for the season, the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
My parents purchased this manger set when they were in Alaska. It is my favorite manger cause it has a husky in it! Please take sometime, slow down and reflect on how blessed we all are.

    I really like both nativity scenes. One of the biggest things we take out in our home is the nativity scene. I realize each day how blessed we are to have a roof over our heads, food on the table and good health - something a lot of people do not have. This is something all beings hope and long for regardless of whether they believe or not. Personally, I pray for world peace and end of suffering of a living beings. I have to say I am troubled that a lot of people have santas everywhere but nothing about the reason Christmas is. One neighbor even has a giant display of a santa coming out of an outhouse in their front lawn. I don't find that cute or funny. But I digress... thanks for this gentle reminder of the reason. Blessings to you and yours - WOOF!

    Spencer, I love your manger scene and I think it is cool that your parents bought it when they were in Alaska. My Ma and Daddy-dog bought a manger scene when they were in Haiti. It's not as fancy as yours, but they bought it from a little Haitian couple who carved the manger from a coconut and made little clay figures for all the people and animals.
