Warning

As most of you know, I came from the land of 10,000 lakes. That's right, Minnesota. We are known for being Minnesota Nice, but there are some in Minnesota that are being down right evil to dogs. Please click on the photo below for the full story.

Your back yard is suppose to be a safe place where your dog is suppose to wear off they winter energy. So hearing that they are putting deadly items in the owns back yards is so scary.

With the weather getting nice and you go out and about more, please keep an eye on your dog. You just never know what is out there.

DIY Photo Blocks

With a little muscle and a delicate paw you too can make one of a kind photo blocks. This is a great project to make with your kids, for a gift or a great way to display multiple photos. Here is what you need and the steps to take to make your own photo blocks.

Supplies

3 4x4 Wooden Blocks

Sander/Sand Paper

Paint

Paint Brush

Mod Podge (Glossy)

Photos

Directions:

* With help from my humans, they went to Home Depot and had them cut three 4x4 blocks of wood.

*Once home we sanded down all the surfaces, corners and edges of the blocks.

*Using white wash colored paint I put about 3 or 4 coats of paint on each block. The wood soaked the paint up so fast. You apply as much or as little as you please.

*Next I went through a stack of photos and picked out my favorite ones. As you can see I tore the photos to give it a ruff look. You can cut, rip, or tear them.

*Finally, I brushed glossy Mod Podge on the bottom a photo and placed it on one of the sides. Pressing it firmly to the block making sure I got all the air bubbles out. Then, I took the Mod Podge and brushed a thin layer over the photo and the entire side of the block. This will help secure the photo to the block.

There you have it, simple and fun DIY Photo Blocks!

FF: Playing Fetch

WW: Practicing with Zuke's

I'm excited to share with you some of my basic commands! Please note that my humans are not dog trainers. The techniques and command are ones that work for us. I recommend your pup attending basic classes for both of you to work on skills and commands early on.

This first video I'm demonstrating my "leave it" and "wait" skills. As you can tell in the video our release word is "all done." You want to make sure you release word isn't a popular word that is used in your house hold, such as "okay."

This second video is an important skill/command I work on. I love my treats and I love kids, so what is better, getting treats for kids. But, I need to make sure I do so in a gentle way. The command for taking a treat gently is "easy." If my humans feel I'm not being gently enough they will either put their finger or the treat or bring the treat back to them. Then, once I'm making eye contact with them they say "easy" and let me try the treat again.

This final video is one of my favorite commands to practice. Here I'm working on my "sit" and "down." My humans like to call this one my "puppy push ups!" When my humans make practicing fun, I really get into it.
