Back 2 School

It's that time of the year where you see shinny yellow buses, pointy pencils, and new back packs. That's right it is back to school time.

I think I have everything I need to head back to school.

Now I just need to figure out how to use this computer when I don't have thumbs.

Are you excited school is starting again?

Hope you have a great Monday and don't forget to join my 2nd Blogiversary Picture Paw-ty! Here is the link if your interested.

Spencer on a Stick

Today is the start of the Minnesota State Fair or "The Great Get Together." Did you know that the famous quote by Vice President (at the time) Theodora Roosevelt "Speak softly and carry a big stick" was spoken during the Minnesota State Fair. It sure was, on September 2, 1901 right here in Minnesota. He was only 42 years old at the time and in less than two weeks he would become the youngest U.S. president in history in the wake of President McKinley's assassination.

I find this quote not only funny but very fitting for the state fair. For some reason humans like to walk around the fair with giant sticks of food. From hot-dish on a stick, to spaghetti, even sauerkraut on a stick.

Last year I shared what a state fair for dogs would looked like.
Doesn't it look tasty!!!

This year I will be sporting my cow bandana while handing out "Spencer on a Stick!" That's right, I will have my picture on a stick for everyone to take home. Now I just need to figure out a way to get into the state fair without security noticing.

Of course I need to model my new bandana off in front of the new camera.

Trying to find the right angel.

Are you planning on going to your state fair?
Would love to hear which state you are from!

New Toys

Happy National Dog Day to all my K9 pals!
I'm pretty sure everyday is dog day, right?!?!?

I would like to share with you my two new toys I got this past weekend.

The first is a 4TB, yes you heard me correct 4TB, External Hard Drive! Now I will have no problem running out of storage room on my computer. When my dad took a look at my computer he was speechless with the amount of photos I had saved on it. He thought I needed the 4TB.

My other new toy is a Nikon D5100 DSLR camera! With this baby I have a feeling the external hard drive was a good investment.

If you have any tips or tricks you would like to share, please feel free! I just found out how to turn the camera on! BOL!

Pull 'n Play Cat Treat Toy

A couple of weeks ago my humans found a coupon in the Sunday paper for $2.00 off this Play Pack from Friskies. We all decided we need to spoil Callie the Cat a little and see if she would play with it.

Once we got it home from the pet store we started to open up the packaging. Surprising Callie came running into the room. Not only does this toy hold treats inside, but you also place edible sting in the top of the toy. If you get this Play Pack everything you need is included.

Right away Callie attack the edible strings and gobbled them up. Check out that tongue!

After the edible string was gone, she started smelling the treats through the hole in the side of the toy. Not long after that she got the hang of batting the toy around for the treats to fall out.

Callie loved this interactive treat dispenser! Now, anytime my humans touch this toy she comes running and starts meowing obnoxiously! I guess you can teach an old cat new tricks!

Just the 4 of Us

Happy Sunday Everyone! I just can't believe my ears! My mom just told me I just surpassed 1,000 "LIKES" on Facebook this week! Thank you to everyone who follows me on Facebook and helped me hit this milestone!

This weekend I'm at the farm with my pals Abbey, Louie, and Carlie. My mom has been trying and trying to get a picture with all four of us. Since Abbey (the rescued golden senior in the back of the photo) is scared of cameras, it makes it hard to get her in right mood to get her picture taken. Luckily, she was willing to pose for a couple of pictures yesterday. Finally, we all were looking at the camera at the same time and smiling! I'm going to treasure this picture fur-ever!

This past week I shared with you my adventure of putting a Lego set together. If you missed the post here is the direct link. I asked all of you to give me suggestions for a name and you responded! Drum roll please........"Spot" is his name! Thank you to everyone who gave suggestions, I absolutely love your involvement.

Here is to an amazing week!

Dog Park Fun with Some GBGVs

As most of you know I met up with Emma and Bailie from My GBGV Life. These two ladies are so much fun, even on a hot, humid day in Minnesota.

Bailie sure a spunky pup, it is so hard to keep up with her.

How many dogs do you see in this picture? The correct answer is three. Bailie of course is far a head, I'm trying to catch up and Emma is hanging with the moms.

Come on mom lets go!

Emma found a great place to get out of the sun.

Bailie on the other hand is soaking up the rays.

During out play date we set aside plenty of time to chat about blogging. It is great to bounce ideas off each other, ask good and stupid question, as well as drool about the next BlogPaws Conference!

I had such a great time meeting up with my GBGV pals! Next time will be sooner then you think!

Have you ever had a play date with any of your blogging pals?
Would love to hear about them!

Lego Dog

My humans went to Lego Land in Mall of America and picked me up this awesome Lego set. In this set you can make four different animals: dog, rabbit, cat, and mouse. Of course, I'm going to make the dog first.

Alright, first I have to figure out which way the direction book goes. It is trickier then you think.

This goes there and that needs to go there! If I only had thumbs this would be so much easier.

TA-DA!

What do you think of my new pal, isn't he cute???

My new pal is already getting into trouble. I need to have a talk with him and tell him that peeing on the squirrel house isn't polite.

I need your help, what should I name him???

Number One Toxin Among Dogs

Here's the scenario: You are laying on your bed, chewing on your favorite bone and all of a sudden you her a "ping." You quickly get up, run on over and you hear your owner freaking out, telling you to "LEAVE IT!" You ask yourself "normally they want me to clean up after them." What is different this time? Come to find out you human dropped one of their pills on the floor.

Medication ingested is the number one toxin consumed by dogs across the nation. It is also the number one reason pet owners contact the Animal Poison Control Center.

These medications are not just prescription pills that are being ingested but over-the-counter and veterinarian medications as well.

I came up with this infographic to help spread awareness and educate pet owners. Feel free to share!
